Colorado Design Tech Community Guidelines

Introduction

Welcome to the Colorado Design Technology Foundation community! Our mission is to cultivate awareness, knowledge, and innovation in the design technology field within the state of Colorado and beyond. To ensure a positive, respectful, and enriching experience for all our members, we've outlined the following community guidelines.

Respect and Inclusion

• No Personal Attacks or Harassment: Personal attacks, harassment, and disrespect of any form are not permitted. This community thrives on mutual respect.

• Zero Tolerance for Discrimination: Racism, misogyny, and any other form of discriminatory or offensive generalizations have no place here.

Integrity and Authenticity

• No Vendor Advertising: While we value our industry partners, this community is not a platform for direct vendor advertising. However, informational sharing that brings value to the community is encouraged.

We may on occasion permit Vendors to post in our Slack group as a part of a sponsorship agreement, but they must have obtained that permission first and ONLY in exchange for tangible benefit to the community (e.g. Happy Hour budget, community rewards, etc.) 

• No Spam: Irrelevant and redundant posts clutter valuable discussions. Please refrain from posting unsolicited content or messages.

Privacy and Confidentiality

• Respect Privacy: Do not disclose personal information about others, including email addresses, phone numbers, and private correspondence, without explicit consent.

Intellectual Property

• Respect Copyright Laws: Do not post copyrighted material without permission from the rightful owner. Always attribute content appropriately.

Conflict Resolution

• Be Constructive, Not Destructive: When disagreements arise, engage in discussions that are solution-oriented and respectful of differing opinions.

Content Guidelines

• Stay On Topic: Ensure that discussions are relevant to the focus of this community, which is design technology in Colorado. Off-topic posts may be removed or redirected.

Legal Requirements

• Follow Local and Federal Laws: All interactions within the community must comply with the laws of the jurisdiction in which you reside.

Reporting and Compliance

• See Something, Say Something: If you witness actions that violate these guidelines, you are encouraged to bring it to the community’s attention.

• Alert the Admins: For serious offenses or uncertainties regarding the spirit of the guidelines, please alert the community admins directly. They are empowered to take necessary actions, which may include warnings, temporary bans, or permanent removal from the community.

Consequence Escalation

• Escalation Path: Repeated violations of these guidelines will result in escalated consequences, ranging from warnings to permanent bans.

Amendment and Updates

• Right to Modify Guidelines: The admin team reserves the right to modify these guidelines without prior notice to reflect the evolving needs and norms of the community.

By joining this community, you agree to adhere to these guidelines, which are in place to maintain a productive and respectful environment for all. Our admins reserve the right to update these guidelines as necessary.
